It's 2019. I’ve got 3 kids under 5 and I’m feeling the pressure. Juggling all the balls of motherhood, work, and life, when suddenly our childcare situation changed and the whole deck of cards came down.

Something had to give. That ‘thing’ was my career. Byeee 👋

So I threw myself into my new ‘job’ of being a full-time-stay-at-home mum. And I loved it. And I hated it. And all of the feelings and fun and cuteness in between. Despite the day-to-day difficulties, I knew I was extremely privileged to be doing this.

But I often found myself wondering, would I ever salvage my career?

I had a degree (B. Bus-B. Psych 🎓) and a 10-year career in digital marketing building the online presence of a popular Queensland destination that was big in beauty but small in bodies and budget. So for me that meant being the go-to for everything from the strategic level to the granular across all aspects of digital marketing (#DIY👑). I loved it.

But the projects I loved the most were the multiple website builds and leaning into the power of cost-free SEO strategies to maximise our organic audience.

And I got pretty good at it, growing organic visitors by almost silly percentages within the first year and then working out how to continue the SEO snowball effect to help us get to the top of the search results for a bunch of highly competitive keywords - no easy feat when you have a diverse region and product offerings.

So fast-forward to being at home with 3 small humans and a move south to the Sunshine Coast, having that very-relatable identity crisis many working/at-home mums have, I decided to dive head first into learning 👩🏽‍🎓 I leaned into my interests and knowledge gaps, and signed up for a ton of courses to keep my skills up-to-date (because digital marketing wasn’t slowing down for anyone), and then one day, it all became crystal clear.

A friend asked me to look at her website. It had long been on her to-do list, but she finally admitted that it was probably never going to move up that list.

I was a long-term fangirl of SEO, using it for years as an extremely helpful tool for growing our brand and audience through the power of content and optimisation.

But helping other small business owners use it to grow their businesses? That’s when I realised I could use my skills to make a real impact, jumpstart Career 2.0, and have fun doing it. What a trifecta.

Yet, for many small business owners, websites and SEO are anything but fun.

They are overwhelm. They are confidence-killing. They are time-sucking.

They are the barrier that stands between where they are now and the business growth they want.

So when we take the first step towards SEO success and say SEEEYA 👋 to overwhelm and uncertainty, and break down that barrier? And we say HELLO YES PLEASE to more time, more traffic, more leads, more conversions?

Then we see the start of the transformation in their business they are working towards.

We see growth. 💰

And it feels so good to be a part of that.
